At the center of the book The Outsiders the author, S.E. Hinton, was trying to deal with the problem of gangs in her school who were clashing violently. Think back to the books you have read, TV and movie programs you have seen, or current events in the world. Where else have you seen two groups of people fighting each other over their differences?
Your blog entry should state where you have seen this conflict, thoroughly describe the two groups who were fighting, and explain why they were fighting.

I have seen this type of conflict in the series I'm reading , "House of Night" by P.C. Cast and Kristen Cast. In the series there is an undefined battle and an unseen problem between the vampires of the House of Night and the People of Faith. The People of Faith are strict Christians who believe that there is only one God and the vampires believe that there is a Goddess and there is power within the elements. In the second or third book it is believed that People of Faith are killing vampires when one of the professors of the school is killed adn a scripture from the bible is taped to her chest and she is beheaded.The high priestess of the school, Neferet, wants to declare war on the humans as payback for killing one of the vampires. This is made worse when a substitute professor is found dead three days later, also with a scripture from the bible taped to his chest.
ReplyDeleteWell I've seen a group of young teens in a gang which they are going against each other about who knows. This was a Blood and Crip situation going on and they were fighting because a blood kid had bumped into an crip kid. Words were forced back and forth then the violence started, by the end of the fight to kids were killed later on that night.
ReplyDeleteI have seen it in starwars. You have the darkside of the force fight ing to take and destroy the univearse and the jedi trying tho keep peace. They fight becouse each side wants there way and will fight for it.
ReplyDeleteIt was the movie gangs of New York I forgot when i saw it but i watched it on tv one day. It is about two diffent gang one gang lives on one side of New York and the other lives on the other. Now from what i can remember the only thing that was different about the gangs was whos family is in it. But in the begining of the movie these two massive gangs come together and fight to the death alot of people die until the leader of the main characters gang is killed.
ReplyDeleteI was reading a book i forget what it was caled but this girl was different from all the other girls she was always in black and had "wierd" hair. The other girls did not like her so they would beat her up and pick on her. The only reason they did this was because she was different from other people at her school and no one look or dressed the way she did. The other girls at her school wore alot of bright colors like pink,blue,green ect. So ya like i said that was why they treated her so badly.

ReplyDeleteIn the movie step brothers. There differences are who they are because there parents meet eachother at a convention and they parents sons dont like eachother. A part of the movie the step brothers start fighting because of there differences and they use bikes and all kinds of stuff as weapons to hurt eachother just because of there differences. That movie to me relates to the books violent situations.

ReplyDeletethe TV show is called cahrmed.. and there is all knids of problems going on. these girls try and fight off all the evil thinhgs that go after people that have things they want or they are just told to kill them..
ReplyDeletetwilight for example. there are two kinds of vampires, one of them feeds off of animals. and the other feeds off of humans. edward is a good vampire and he protects the girl who likes him from the bad group, but the good group protects her also.

Its about a group of white supremecists and the main character gets sent to jail and he becomes friends with a black guy and when he gets out he tries to change his little brothers ways but he ends up getting killed before he can do anything for him.

ReplyDeleteAmerican History X, in this movie the Neo Nazi's were extremely against the blacks, and anyone who wasn't part of the white race. these white supremasists would do anything to make their point clear. but one of those men were named Derek, and he shoots 3 of the 4 black men trying to steal out of his truck, and that lands him in jail, but while in jail he goes through tough times, and comes to realize that was he was doing was wrong after talking to a black man everyday of his life in there, and when he gets out, he gets out and tries to stop his brother from following in his footsteps, but his brother gets killed by a teenage black man in the end.
ReplyDeleteIve seen an example of two groups fighting in Romeo and Juliet where the Montague and Capulet family's constantly fight with each other. They fighting because of a family feud that had lasted for years, they are both wealthy family's.
